A recent testimonial from a volunteer named Dennis who now describes himself as, “one lucky volunteer”:
“I have got to be one of the luckiest volunteers around, you know it? I say that because I get to work with some of the nicest people around who help some of the most needy of folks in St. Johns County. I say that because I get to work with some of the nicest people around who help some of the most needy of folks in St. Johns County…With the assistance of St. Johns Volunteers!, I was able to hook up with Pie in the Sky, and it was like a magical connection for me. Volunteering has been one of my life-long core values and it brings me lots of satisfaction knowing that I can bring some joy into someone’s life. Pie in the Sky distributes some very nutritious food and social interaction every two weeks to those who might otherwise not receive it. Can you imagine the delight a person might get when they are brought a loaf of fresh artisan bread along with a fancy dessert and a bounty of fresh produce from the local farmer’s market? I and lots of other volunteers work twice a week at the Pie in the Sky warehouse to package all of these items for our route drivers. And we have lots of fun doing it because we know that it is for a good cause. Yes, I am one lucky volunteer.”– Dennis M.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to be of service and to make difference in the lives of others.
