Volunteering As a Family can offer an opportunity for individuals of all ages to experience the joy of service together.
Volunteering provides an opportunity to educate children and teens about the value of service to others and to create a broader sense of awareness of the many social needs which exist in every society. Working as a team member helps to develop positive skills which may assist with their academic and professional careers.
Volunteering as a family can provide a positive, shared memory of working together in service to others. Volunteering is viewed as an important element in youth character development.
As part of its mission, St. Johns Volunteers! is working to facilitate the expansion of opportunities to volunteer as a family by partnering with our non-profit and organizational members to support specific family-oriented volunteer options throughout the calendar year.
(Note: Due to the application of state and federal law, parents may be asked to remain onsite with their children under age 18 when engaging in volunteer service activities and may be also asked to sign general liability waivers pertaining to specific activities, tasks or venues.)
