October 2019 –Ancient City Kids Day. Coordinated by EPIC and brought to the community by a committee of children organizations, Ancient City Kids Day is a day of fun-filled activities for children and families. The event is free for the public and will include over 40 youth service organizations each of whom will offer games, activities, crafts, give-aways, bounce houses or fun contests for kids. They will also be offering resource information for parents regarding programs and services in the community. There will be free t-shirts/goody bags for kids while they last. There is live entertainment all day. The only cost to the public will be for food or drinks but the cost is minimal. It is an easy 30 mile route that is on the trail and quiet, rural countryside roads. Everything for sale comes from community donations or materials removed from library holdings. Sale prices are $1 each for hardback books, 50 cents each for softcover books, and children’s books at 10 to 25 cents each. Select special books are $2.00 and up. The Friends of the Library hold book sales frequently to raise funds and to promote membership. All book sale proceeds support the Main Library’s needs.

ReAnna Green grew up in St. Augustine and graduated from Pedro Menendez High School in 2007. She graduated from UCF in 2011 with a BS in Nursing and moved to Baltimore to work at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. She tragically lost her life to Domestic Violence in April of 2015. This race has been organized to honor ReAnna, with the proceeds to help provide a scholarship to a Pedro Menendez athlete that will be pursing a career in nursing, but also speak out against Domestic Violence and to serve as a catalyst to help those who may fine themselves in a similar situation. April 21, 2019 – Pups and Sups Surfing Competition. A special Pups and Sups surfing competition will be held On Saturday, April 21, 2019 from 8:00 am to noon, at the future Guy Harvey Outpost Resort located at 860 A1A Beach Blvd in St. Augustine Beach, FL 32080. Friendly dogs and their owners are invited to compete to raise funds for K-9s for Warriors, an organization which provides service animals to veterans and returning military personnel. Participants will be divided into three competitive divisions based on the weight of their dogs. No experience necessary — all are welcomed to enjoy a day of surfing for a good cause. Participants who do not have surfboards of their own may borrow one courtesy of Surf Station. Following the competition, awards will be given for biggest wave, longest ride, best wipe-out, and more.
